Club, spades, hearts, and diamonds are the four suits in a standard deck of playing cards. Each suit has 13 cards, including an ace, numbered cards 2 through 10, and face cards (jack, queen, and king). The colors of the suits are traditionally black for spades and clubs and red for hearts and diamonds. In many card games, each suit is equal in value, but in some games, such as bridge, the suits are ranked in order of ascending value, with spades being the highest and clubs being the lowest. The four suits also have various symbolic meanings, such as spades representing death and diamonds representing wealth.
